Badger Persistence™ is a vulnerability management service based on a secure scanning appliance, which is placed on your network and a hosted web portal, which gives you access to internal and external scanning functionality. Scans can be performed on a regular schedule or on-demand, and scans done over time can feed into trend reports, which allow you to discover, track, and manage day-to-day vulnerabilities over the course of a year.
The Badger Persistence™ appliance is a custom-built device based on a standard x86 PC, running a hardened version of Linux. The scanning software uses an encrypted outbound connection from your network into our central portal server. The appliance has no open or listening ports to contain vulnerabilities, so it doesn’t become a threat to your network’s security. For more diverse networks, the appliance can be configured with multiple ethernet interfaces so that it can scan multiple network segments without having to be moved for each scan.
As part of the service, you will get access to our web portal, which gives you the ability to initiate on-demand scans, generate reports, and change scheduling for regular scans. Trend reporting compares scans over time, showing you progress and and giving you verification of your remediation. All together, consistent reporting and trending are the tools you need to properly manage vulnerabilities on your network.
As a White Badger exclusive, every year of service comes with up to two hours per month of remote consulting time with your dedicated White Badger security professional, as well as two onsite reviews.
